The National Film, Photography & Sound Engineering School - dedicated to providing pre-professional training for the audiovisual industries.

ENS Louis Lumière offers theoretical, practical as well as technical and artistic education and training for those wishing to go into the various branches of the audiovisual industry. Run under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, it offers a state-funded course at postgraduate level leading to a nationally-recognised diploma equivalent to an M. Phil.

Continuing Education : the school wishes to remain at the forefront of professional concerns resulting from an ever-changing technological environment. We offer training courses which combine theory and practice witha technical and creative approach, providing essential training and practical applications in the following areas : film, photography, sound HD/ digital video.

Founded in 1926, inspired by figures such as Louis Lumière and Léon Gaumont, the school was a pioneer in film and photography education. Its policy currently revolves around three principles:

- To re-affirm its status as a national postgraduate school by continuing to offer excellent education and training which remains financially accessible to all ;

- To provide access to the professional world by adjustin existing syllabi and providing students, teaching staff and professionals in the audiovisual industries with opportunities to exchange points of view and share information ;

- To promote creativity, research and development and know-how through its- image on a national, European and international scale.

ENS Louis Lumière is located in the eastern suburbs of Paris in a tailor-made building covering a surface area of 800m2. It is part of an ever-expanding pole of universities and public institutes such as The University of Marne-la-Vallée and The National Audiovisual Institute (INA).
